How effective is purchasing targeted website traffic?

If you narrow your target group down to "mlm" to find home biz seekers or "beauty" to promote a product, how effective is this method of advertising? If you have done this what is your average conversion rate. Sales/sign ups vs. visitors purchased? Any who have had success with this ,what companies do you recommend buying traffic from?

Most of the people that use these paid to surf sites are only interested in surfing as many websites as possible and not the content on each site. I've purchased a few of these packages before and they are a complete waste of money. If you want to get quality traffic to your site, the best way is the goold old fashion way....hard work! Submit to search engines, sign up for forums, request link exchanges, answer on yahoo answers. Do whatever you can to build a link base.

4. i want agree with the first post... to maximize your purchased traffic direct them to a sign up page... that waay they aren't just passing through your website.. give them something of value that refusing it would be crazy and you will get sign up for sure
