A friend of mine does not use the computer yet is trying on a new MLM type business?

Do you think it will work for him and has it worked for you or anyone you know to do MLM type business without using the internet?

1. its like the wilderness out there, the top people feed on the bottom people, chances are they will not make anything significant i believe all mlms do is help the people on top
2. it will be a major liability for him - most MLM's have their focus on internet communications. largely depends on the "product" he is selling, and the offer that has to be presented.
3. MLM (Mulit Level Marketing) may not necessary need to be have internet or computer. It could also be able to be done offline. From my experience, MLM normally do not have a very good products and the aim is just to recruit people to join them. It may not be sustainable if there is no good or convincing products. There are a lot of other internet business model besides MLM. Examples - Buying and sellling domain names, selling phyiscal or digital products, auctions, using paid newsletter or websites, affilitate marketing and many more. You could consider some of them as well. There are also various web marketing strategies to promote your products using the above business model and there are basically categories into 3 areas. 1) Buy Traffic 2) Build Traffic and 3)Steal Traffic. They are basically trying to get more visitor to visit your webpage and eventually buy your products. I normally use strategy 2 and 3 as some of their techniques are free or at a low cost. 4. I am not an MLMer but I do have a Customer Direct Marketing Business that I do all in person. I open accounts for people to buy from an Wholesale Wellness Company and built my business locally, I currently have over 120 customers. 5. It will actually work better. I use both the computer and just word of mouth. People hesitate to join you on the computer because they do not know you are a real person, making real money. they do not believe you are being truthful. I find it very hard to build my business online and find it much easier in person.
