I need career suggestions. I am a single father who recently hurt his back at work.?
I am extreemly strong. Even when strong guys work together I have always been the strongest with the most endurance. My life and the safety and security of my children have depended upon my back and how much I can work. Now, I have been severely injurred. My company is self insured and the treatment has been second best, if that. Compensation for the job was already inadequit. Now the insurance is playing me, and trying to starve me out. I need a new career. I love writeing and enjoy being creative. I also do voices but Hollywood isn't exactly hiring full time fools. So, assuming I am intelligent and a good worker who adapts quikly, what are your suggestions? It should pay more than $3,000 take home as I am a single father of three living in Seattle area.(That isn't much for this area) No MLM or outside sales. The suggestions must be hourly or salaried with entry level positions. Training on the job, because I can't take time for school.

- I'm a single mom of three and need more money. I'm not making enough and I like to write as well. So I'll be following answers to your question. Hope someone gives you the perfect solution : )
- I am a State Farm agent, and I have a hard time finding people to work for me. (see "jeffchandler.com"). Many of my associates feel the same way. They can't find good, mature people who are willing to work full time. One of my problems, however, is that employees have to be licensed in order to work for me. It's the law. So, when I screen resumes, I usually filter out those people who don't have an insurance license. Getting a license is not that tough. It might take a week or so of intense studying. Then you have to take an exam. But once you have a license, it is pretty easy to find a 9-5 job.
- I can't think of any office jobs with that kind of pay for entry level. I am in Seattle myself and just don't see it. I do payroll so I know what people earn a gross of 50K is considered career level pay. We have one who has been on her job 10 years and good at it that only makes 15 an hour. Without specialized training I don't see you earning that much. Maybe you can get more child support if you need to take a lower paid career.
