Is there anybody out there that makes $1000 per month or more in MLM(after purchasing training products)?
I am interested to know. I have friends that have tried MLM, but most of them quit. I have a few that are still in it, but they never boast about making tons of money. I would just like to hear from some people who actually have and what they feel that they did differently.

- First a note of caution. The vast majority of MLM deals are scams. You need to thouroughly research any company you consider participating with. Warning signs of scam companies are flashy ads for large earning amounts for little or know work. Also, any MLM where any significant percentage of your income is dependant on new associate sign ons is a big no-no. Okay, so, keeping in mind 80% or more of MLM offers are some sort of scam, or possibly illegal, Yes, there are lots of people making that kind of money or more in the industry. However, those people are the same types of people making money in other industries. Highly motivated, hard workers, excellent motivators and managers. Being successful at these types of opportunities absolutely requires complete dedication. You have to be a successful salesperson of the companies product. You then have to be able to translate your individual success selling the product to identifing and cultivating other sales reps to also sell the product well. Then you have to develop the managerial and training skills to help them succeed and eventually recruit thier own reps into the business. As you can imagine, being successful in that field is far harder than being successful in traditional jobs. The main difference is in traditional fields, you have the fallback of making an hourly wage if you dont excel. The benefit though in MLM or a different sales field is uncapped income. The very best sales people make millions. the very very good ones make 6 figures. Final note. Most MLMs say no sales required! Or product sells itself! Just drop off catalogues and let the orders roll in! thats total bull****. Its sales. Pure and simple. Usually its cold call sales. It takes a logn time and effort to be successful at it. Sales takes years of ongoing effort and learning to be good in. So, no, its not a part time gig like they advertise. If you do MLM part time, its nto worth your time or energy, your returns will never outweigh the time and money spent. Its all or nothing.
- Cory's answer above has lots of valid points; lots of MLM are scams, it can be a lot of work, MLM is sales, etc. However, the are legit MLMs that have provided a good living for some folks including Tupperware, Avon, Fuller Brush, etc. Also, MLM is sales, just like Cory said. This is the key to why so many fail at MLMs, because they are never trained on sales and marketing. Look at those who are successful in MLMs and you'll notice that they are all good sales people. As such you can not listen to the MLM companies on how to market their products which is to stay in your warm market. Do this and you'll never make more than a few hundred a month, guaranteed. Here are some keys to being successful. 1. Learn how to market and sell, globally, not just at 'arms length' and Develop a marketing plan. 2. Reread #1 above 1000 times, because this is the key. With a good marketing plan and sales expertise, you can sell anything to anyone. 3. Pick a company with more than just one product and products that people will buy month after month, year after year. A good MLM is one that you can retire on, not make a quick buck. 4. Avoid any company that is a 'ground floor opportunity' or 'get on the wave now' deal. These are usually a juice or supplement only product and don't last long. My point in #3 above. 5. Work smarter, not harder. Your marketing plan should funnel prospects to you. Remember being busy is not the same as being productive. Much of this I realized after reading the 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing, which I've downloaded to my website http://www.chrisandpatricia.info/ for you to get for free.
