MLM ?What Multi Level Marketing have helped your Business grow ?

I have worked and have been working for many MLM companies and find that there is a patern that always seems to hapen to me ? Herbal Life, ACN, Xango and they are all built around the same marketing strategies. Do you maybe have some tips or ideas for me in regards to gaining more knowledge in the field or perhaps a book you can sugest or perhaps some lead source you may have had succes with? Maybe you would like to share your ideas?

Everyone has told me that networking around family and friends and so on is the way to go, but if you don't know a whole lot of people it gets rough, and even if you did a majority of those people either don't have money or they are full of excuses. That has been my experience anyway. I am in the same boat. What I am working on right now is to find advertising in the community there are probably alot of free sites even in your area it just take a little while to find them. Also posting in high traffic areas like college bulletin boards, grocery stores, the laundry mat pretty much anywhere there is a blank space. It is slow at first but I have had pretty good luck with it. How has the Xango thing working for you?
