MLM, which is important: quality of product / service or driving traffic to site?
in MLM, all you need is 2 thing to succeed: reliable product / services and huge load of traffic to site. Which is the most important between the two, i can say both but want to know what ppl think

- I don't quite understand your reference to MLM (multi-level marketing). Most MLM programs are structured around the idea that you don't actually make much money by "selling" products yourself, but by bringing in many additional people into the business who are your "downlines," whose sales earn you commissions. I'll just ignore the MLM aspect of the question, since it doesn't seem relevant. Of course, you've identified the two factors that are most important for any sales business, although I might rate "credibility" as a third equal factor. I believe "traffic" is the more important factor -- it is the "necessary but not sufficient" component -- no matter how great the product is, and no matter how credible your business, nobody will buy unless they somehow learn what you sell. Of course, the traffic doesn't actually need to be at your site -- you could sell via "microsites" on other people's web sites, or through other channels such as eBay or Amazon Marketplace. Turn it around: if you had some traffic and a crappy product, you could possibly sell some units. If you have a great product but no traffic, you can't possibly sell even a single unit. A fourth factor would be "price," or "perceived value." Even if you credibly present your great product to millions of people, they won't buy if the price is unreasonable. (There are many pricing strategies, and you absolutely don't need to be the "lowest price" but you won't sell many toothbrushes for $500 each.)
- It definitely helps to have a great product or service. Driving traffic to your site is great if it is targeted at those who seek what you have to offer. If you are driving traffic to a replicated distributor website then , you are waisting your money (in my opinion) I can not say that one is more important than the other. I can say that there are more important things than the two in which you have presented. I think that in MLM you need to do things in the proper order. First find a product or service that you would enjoy sharing with others. Then realize how MLM and network marketing works. You must be able to provide a solution to others needs. Find out what your target market is and how you can place yourself in front of them. If you choose to market using the internet, you can find ways to market yourself, your products and your opportunity. I suggest building your own website in this case. This allows you to make things personal and when you get down to it, that is what networking is all about. In other words I would say this in relation to your question. Whether or not you have the best product, if you are driving traffic to yourself, you need to offer something that makes you stand out from the crowd. In MLM, it is not the product in most cases that makes you stand out. It is the person and the personal relationships that are built. BEST WISHES! P.S. I have a link to a great free ebook that goes into great detail about the importance of building business in MLM the right way (non-traditional). I would be more than happy to pass it on.
- Without a doubt it is the quality of the product. MLM is a business just like making cars. If Toyota had bad products nobody would purchase them and the business would die. MLM is no different. Treat it like a business, like you're the only rep on the planet and promote it. As far as traffic goes you want to make sure you drive targeted traffic to your site. If someone is looking for a computer and your selling nutritional products that traffic will have a very low conversion rate. Define your target market and get them to your site. Best Wishes!
