What do people in MLM use to assess the business opportunity financially? Being that all MLMers tell you its a business, I am wondering what business principals are used to assess the opportunity from a financial point of view. For instance, last year I bought an apartment building and my investigation of whether it was a good financial opportunity consisted of looking at the gross and net incomes for the prior 3 years (verifying income and expenses) , looking at the market rents and occupancy rates, and calculating the average sales prices (on a per unit base) over the past 6-12 months within a 1 mile radius. All that information was used in my financial assessment of the deal and to help me decide whether it was worthwhile. Looking at financial statements is key in buying any business, but I have never heard of this in MLM. Other than statements made at a meeting or from their sponsor, what financial criteria is being used to decide whether the MLM "business opportunity" makes sense financially and is it ever verified? Mexico4me, so your research was merely looking at a COMPENSATION PLAN! Oh my, how sad. What exactly did you verify? That the plan would pay a particular compensation percentage? So, you are telling me your upline number's, someone who is supposedly making money running this MLM business, was of no interest to you? Yes, you are delusional. Thanks for proving my point!
What are the companies that are providing excellent MLM oppurtunities in India right now? What are the conditions that a company must fulfill so that it may be regarded as a good MLM company?
What percentage of mlm people end up quiting? I think it is around 99.999%. Some mlm people have called me names for my opinion on this.... So I am curious as to what you think the actual figure is.
Why are people in MLM so emotionally attached to the industry? I assess businesses for a living and look mostly at real estate. When I have been presented a deal and determined it was a poor investment, people generally do not get emotional or upset calling me names and telling me I am negative. This is the same in most business ventures. But in MLM, you can express your opinion of it being a poor business choice and you get MLMers jumping all over you as though you insulted their family? Is this because people get in to MLM emotionally instead of intellectually (on the hype as oppose to assessing it as a business), or is it because MLM is more cult like that they would like to admit? plr2win, you have expressed exactly my point. The issue (well one of them) is that you need to depend on your downline for income, and thus at any given time, there are always more people producing less than is needed to provide themselves an income than there are actually earning an income. You see, in real world business, whether it be sales, admin, management, whatever, the person working that position is always providing enough value to justify their pay. In MLM, the majority is always earning less than would justify incomes because instead of focusing on personal sales first, they focus on recruiting and thus need others in order to make money. Show me a model where everyone is first made to do enough personal volume to make a good living then allowed to recruit and I will show you a decent MLM...but none like that exist. plr2win - to further clarify, its not that I am suggesting the model is some unethical system, I am suggesting the presentation of MLM as a means a getting wealthy is a sham. Explain how an exponential matrix can keep supplying revenue streams for someone on your 20th level. You can't because at that point you would need millions and million of people in your organization. This simply yet another reason that MLM is flawed as a "business opportunity." MLM like a McDonald's franchise...thats Ripe! It would be the same if everyone in your neighborhood set up competing McDonald's on every corner with no concern for how that competition affect each franchise, and also if the fry guys and cashiers only got paid when they brought their friends and family in to get jobs as well. Gimme a break. MLMers are kidding themselves with these false comparisons.
What is the best way to recruit for a MLM? I just joined a brand new MLM and no one has really explained how to recruit or market the company and/or product. The more research I have done the more confused I get. The internet is full of people selling their way, but if I had a lot of money to start, I wouldn't have put my hopes into this company. And I don't need more answers that will cost me hundreds of dollars.
Is an MLM pyramid structure the same as a pyramid structure in the workplace? You know what I mean? In MLM it is taught that when people say its a pyramid you explain to them that the pyramid is the same thing as any business, with lots of workers on the bottom, managers higher up making more money, and the top people making the most. When you consider that in MLM the people at the bottom are not making any money (at least not enough to live off of), yet in conventional workplaces the people at the bottom are at least making a wage, does this comparison hold water?
What is the best home-based business to start with a small investment that does NOT involve MLM? I am looking to start my own business. I have only a small amount of capital to invest. I would like to hear the comments and experiences of others who have done so successfully. I am not interested in MLM of any type.

What is the secrect to running a good MLM? I have benn in a MLM (Vemma) but I am having limited results, can anyone help me jump start my buisness?
Why is it the only people who defend MLM are MLMers themselves? ***Question directed to people NOT involved in MLM*** Consider that someone could tell you a stock broker is a terrible business and fraudulent activity and you can bet lots of other people other than stock brokers (basically unbiased people) would defend the industry. Same can be said with nearly every industry. But in MLM, the only people that ever defend it are the MLMers themselves, and no one else. No one who has ever looked at MLM and decided against it has ever has anything positive to say about it. Its seems its MLMers versus the world. Why do you think MLMers so blatantly overlook this?
How to biuld the best network in a MLM? I joined a MLM company and I am trying to biuld a network, woonder what is the best way to do it. Appreciate your aswers.
What is the best way to find good prospects for an MLM? I have an MLM that I'm working on building. It is a great low risk opportunity (low cost plus a money back guarantee) with a product that actually doesn't require extra science or convincing (it's not potions, pills, etc...rather, it's best selling books). However, the main hurdle I have is finding people who are open to the concept of MLM in general rather than the specific company I'm with. I find that either people are totally NOT interested in MLM or if they are interested, they're already in their own and not interested in joining mine (which is understandable...because I'm not looking to switch to theirs either). So my question is how and where people find GOOD prospects that are actually ready to sign up for a new MLM (I've seen 'networking' sites that help you build networks of like minded folks, but it's the same problem, we're all their to tout our own company...not to join someone else's...and the websites themselves are often selling their own separate agenda). Thoughts?
What is the best MLM company going today? I just wanted to know what MLM company do you think has the best opportunity and why. If you could also say what product they offer.
Which MLM company is the best one to join? I have been approached by many mlm companies, I am just wondering which one I should join (if any) There are too many network marketing companies to choose from and every one of them tell me they are on the Top 10 MLM companies. Do I trust the lists that say they are top 10 MLM companies?
Do I file a separate federal income tax return for my MLM business? I started a MLM business in November 2007. When I file my taxes do I have to file separately for the business. It is all under my social security number. Just want to stay on the right side of the law. Thanks
Are there any real home based business that are not scams or mlm? I don't want to do survey's or mlm, no downlines or uplines, no reading upon reading and filling out forms after forms only to have to fill out more forms. I just want the comfort of working from home and making real money for real quality work. No more ebooks on the secrets to working from home, or how tom and mary makes $10000 a month or more from home when they really don't exist. Can some one out there really help me.
What are the rules regarding direct sales or MLM in UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, basically all the gulf countries? I would like to know specifically if there are any special rules regarding MLM compensation plans in the Gulf area. Is this a legal method of marketing and paying distributors? If I open an office in the Free Zone, what does that mean I have to provide, as far as paperwork, from my company in the US? What if I sign up a local distributor? What is the procedure in that scenario?
Can someone plese advise on a good home based business that is not MLM? Please no scams. No MLM. No "sign up with us and build a web page marketing our stuff and you will get a commision" sites either please.
Why are people in my MLM downline concerned that I am living out of my car? I am making money hand over fist with my MLM company and sponsoring people and selling product all over the place. However, I am still living out of my car because I have not CHOSEN to live in an apartment. People in my downline, who should be looking up to me because I represent a successful MLM upline, are talking behind my back and I know it. What is their problem?
Is there anything in the law in California requiring MLM companies to have a refund policy? Or any other way to get a refund after joining a MLM company?
I have a new MLM biz I am promoting. What are the best methods of getting downlines free and fast? This MLM/Network Marketing biz is the simplest I have seen and it has a lot of freebies one can enjoy. I discovered that getting people to join is very difficult. Please advise me on how to get downlines for my business.

Can you put a MLM or Network Marketing Company on your resume or on a job application? I recently joined a MLM or Network Marketing company, is it possible to enlist them in your resume or Job Application paper? Thanks PS would you recommend me putting it on or not?
How can I get Leads and Prospect for my MLM Business? I am a IGNITE Associate and I am having trouble with my Warm Market ran out after 12 hours and I am having trouble with getting Prospects and Leads for my Ignite Business. I get everyone sending me invites to other MLM's but if I can't get Prospects or Leads for IGNITE how will I do these other MLM's.
Why do people in MLM say its a business, but when asking for their numbers compare it to a paycheck? Don't these people realize a paycheck is for a job, and revenue/expenses is for a business? People in MLM tell you its a business until you ask for their numbers, and then its a job and private. I would not ask for their information if they were hiring me for a job, but trying to sign me up for their business those numbers should be expected. Is this just yet another component that makes MLM a joke?
MLM or Party Plan, which is the best business opportunity? I am tired of working long hours. I would like to work from home, so I may spend time with my family. I am wanting to hear from someone who is actually involved in an MLM or home party plan and earning enough money to support themselves. I want to know if there is a system out there that really works without scamming friends and family. If not, I guess I will have to stay in the corporate world.
Has anyone had the experience of operating a home based business as a llc or inc. which is NOT mlm related? I am looking to run a business out of my home (NOT a mlm type venture), but I am not sure which route is best: inc. or llc? What are the differences between the two? Is one more expensive than the other in regards to filing for a business? Thank you in advance for whatever advice is offered.
What is an effective way to market my MLM business? Have found a good business model, an ethical company and a product that has improved my health dramatically. Apart from sharing with family and friends - are there any other suggestions that don't cost the earth. I'm not very computer savvy, so any practical help would be very much appreciated.
Is there even a single MLM company that focuses more on sales than recruiting? I just want to hear about one MLM company, just one, where the emphasis is on sales, not on recruiting. Let me clarify, I am in no way interested in joining any MLM, so don't bother. I am merely interested in hearing if any MLM's exist that actually are about sales, and not a pyramid scheme. And please, don't tell me focusing predominantly on recruiting to make money is not pyramiding. Mexico4me, i think you need learn what leverage actually is rather than just accepting a term from your MLM buddies. In your silly example you merely transfered the hours worked to your downline without changing the total hours worked. Suddenly we are to believe that you are still making the same amount of money working no hours yet your downline makes money as well? So because you merely spread the hours worked out among more people the company is paying out more money? Right. Do the math. This is my EXACT point. MLM is set up with the mentality that its better to make money by recruiting people than it is to work hard. You are delusional if you suggest that is about sales first. You have said in prior answers that no one sells enough personal volume to make a living without a downline and that is precisely why MLM is flawed. Its about making money recruiting (a pyramid) not about sales. The fact that some product is sold doesn't negate that fact. Sunny, saying MLM is part franchising is merely MLM tag lines, aka propaganda to justify to the naive. Think about what you are suggesting. Most people are not sales driven, yet you are telling them its the same as a franchise. Can you actually imagine a franchise operation that didn't first sell product? Gee, your new franchise is not moving any product, here is the answer, just open up more franchises! Brilliant. Only in MLM are foolish principals like this accepted as intelligent.
Do people in MLM (Network Marketing) honestly think all business is a pyramid like MLM? You always hear them give the line that all business is set up like a pyramid to justify that MLM is built on recruiting people. While real business has fewer people in high earning roles, it seems MLMers miss the very obvious point that even a lowly janitor at McDonald's doesn't have to recruit 5 other janitors to make a living wage. Do people in MLM really think its the same? Do they really miss the point that real business doesn't have to keep hiring people for infinity to keep making money for its employees? It just seems such an obvious difference, yet it makes no sense that people in MLM are convinced it is the same. Andre - while you are correct about the legality, let's not let the absurdidty of the whole thing get lost on us. The fact that MLM gets around being illegal and not a straight pyramid scheme is ONLY becuase there are products and services available to be sold by the reps; however, the fact is nealry all MLMers focus their attention on recruiting others instead of sales - meaning although it is legal for all intents and purposes it is virtually the same. If MLM companies wanted to put the focus on personal sales instead of recruiting then how can you expalin that ALL MLM compensation plans allow you to move up the ranks ONLY by recruiting others. You can be the worlds best salesperson but unless you recruit other people you can't obtain the top rank in any MLM compensation plan. Let's get serious, they are the same, depsite anyone considering it "legal" or not. L.F.Heap - you spent spent your entire answer describing any sales company. Evidently the point of this question was lost on you because if MLM was focused on sales and not recruiting then there would be no issue. The question was in reference to the fact that MLM push recruiting, and weigh it as FAR more important than personal sales, and the evidence is in the MLM compensation plans.
Do you believe if you get hung up on the numbers in MLM you are doomed to fail? I have asked for numbers from people promoting MLM business and I constantly hear that if I get hung up on the numbers I am doomed to fail. Do you believe that is true?
Need help to get start with my MLM as distributor? This MLM company is from US and dealing with health supplement juice. With 40 over pericraps and antioxidant. How can I make people to join me

How many people out there work MLM home businesses and how successful are you? I see on the internet that there are so many multi-level marketing home businesses out there even though you never hear anyone in your personal circle talking about them. I started one and it is awesome. Just wondering if anyone else is involved in these and how successful they are. How long? How much are you making? Any advice? Mine is EcoQuest - it's about 20 years old and made the inc 500. I found it because I had mold in my house and found a machine on the internet that would kill it. I bought it and it WORKED. The next morning my head wasn't even stuffed! I was so amazed I wanted to start dealing them so, I do. It's just difficult finding other people who care, people who want to help get these units out to the public who need them so bad. The EPA says over 50% of illnesses are from indoor pollution and nobody is doing anything about it! I'm trying to - and am amazed at how few care. The one I am in is http://www.maximumsuccess.com/padeva It appears there is such a variety out there - some good, some not so good. But for those who succeed in a big way, what is it that sets you apart? For example, I don't push, I am here when somebody needs what I have to offer. I'm just amazed that less seem to need that which is available. So much less than I thought. I put it out there to the public and since it's not candy or explicit material, nobody has yet to beat my door down. So, tell me, what is it that sets those who have lines at their doors apart from those who don't get paid attention to. MLM or not - it's about marketing; getting product out to the market. If you aren't WalMart or Sears, how can you get people to notice YOUR products - that happen to be so much better? ~Is there anyone successful enough to answer this?
How do you rate most of the health products sold through MLM marketing? I have read many products and all looks good and all shows good result so which one to choose.. For example the hebalife products talking about the 19 vitamins.... Even the phamacies are also selling almost the same producs...
Can I make money online withou joining an MLM program or paid to read/surf crap? Looking for a real way to make a little extra cash. Not trying to get rich, maybe just a good couple hundred dollars a month. Something I can do without marketing.
What can you tell me about your experience with a MLM company called Financial Freedom Society Inc? As a home business it sounds like you just set up a web site to attract prospects and then somebody else takes over. Is it possible to be involved beyond the recruiting stage?
what is the fastest way to build your downline in a mlm company? I understand that this is not easy however I still have the passion and desire to create passive residual income.
What is the easiest way to open up a business in Vietnam like direct selling or MLM? Can somebody help me? I am wondering if we could sell fitness and wellness products in Vietnam considering that they're already starting to become developed. People there might want to start earning a little for themselves now.
How do self respecting people in MLM actually think having a downline is fair leverage? You always hear people in MLM talk about how brilliant the system is because it uses leverage and that you get a little effort from a lot of people and everyone makes money. Is this not the most idiotic thing you have heard? if everyone is doing only a little effort conceivably not selling enough on their own effort to at least provide an income, then it is physically impossible for everyone to be earning at the same time. The only way it works if is the pyramid continually grows. People in MLM say that the people at the bottom should leverage as well and get the same results as those at the top, but essentially that only means that at no point ever in the MLM model does EVERYONE benefit, there are always people at the bottom getting no value. Are people in MLM that stupid, or is it that there are enough people with no concept of math that are constantly seeing MLM for the first time?
Why do people in MLM always say the fact that its legal means its a good business? Whenever I ask a question in regards to why people in MLM think its a viable business opportunity, they inevitably come back with information showing me why its legal. OK, I got it...I am not going to go to jail by getting into MLM. Now show me why its viable by actually PROVING people are making all this money, by actually PROVING that MLM companies sell massive amounts of product to people who are not reps themselves, and PROVING that its possible to have a network that can continue to grow past 20 levels deep. Can anyone in MLM actually do this?
I have started working for an amazing MLM company, Ambit. What are some good places and ways I can market it? over the internet? We offer gas & electric to select markets with huge income potential & I want ideas on how to get the word out on the web.
How can I promote my MLM business? What are some ways I can promote my MLM business to new customers? Your help will be greatly appreciated. I have already gone through my family and friends list and now I need to find new customers but not sure of the best approach. I am selling a medicinal fruit drink.
Do pyramid and MLM schemes increase in popularity as unemployment increases? I am currently in Michigan (one of the highest states in unemployment), and I am seeing these things everywhere. The TEAM is one of the bigger ones, they are all scams in my opinion, but I really wonder what the relationship is.
How can I build a solid downline for my mlm company? I have a wonderful drink and want to share it with the world
Are there any sites that give prompts on how to deal with aggresive MLM recruiters? I'm dealing with a recruiter for a MLM (multi-level marketing) company that I'm not interested in. I want to tell them I'm not interested but I'm looking for a site that has questions that they're going to ask me and responses to those questions. My main reasons for not going into this: 1. I have a good job and am able to support a family of 8 on my income alone. 2. I don't believe that anyone can make money but sitting around their house all day long as your Region Vice President claims. 3. Why do none of your people seem to have a college, much less high-school, education? 4. Why do you seem more interested in recruiting people than selling a product? I would like to know how they're likely to reply to those questions and how I should counter. I can just say, "No, I'm not interested and keep saying it until they give up, but I want to give a good reason too."
Is it just me or does EXIT Realty work like a MLM scam? How is that legal? Just to make it clear. I feel this way because they focus mainly on recruiting others (sponsoring) and on residual income. That is exactly what MLM companies focus on. It aounds like a complete pyramid scam.
MLM Co-op? MLM'rs UNITE!! It only makes sence to co-op from all different types of MLM's i.e buy laundry detergents from Joes quixtar site, buy Bettys tupperware from her site, etc.etc. If all MLM'ers (over one million in U.s. alone) formed a coop, and by-passed the retail market, then the possabilities would be incredable. But it seems everyone is so wrapped up in thier own business that it never has occured to anyone to simply Co-Op. And if you prospect and loose, than gently suggest another Biz.op., and pass them down. there are plenty of op's out there to suite anyone. This way, the volume would sky-rocket, and the points would too. And as for MLM's that have multiple product catagories, than all you have to do is specialize, or flagship a certain product, therby spreading the oppurtunity to others in the same MLM. Does anyone agree, disagree? Does anyone think this approach could work?
If MLM is such a brilliant marketing model...? ...why don't you see any MLM companies competing against any of the largest retailers in the world. You hear all the time (and have been hearing for 25 years) how MLM will take over how sales are conducted, yet is there even a single MLM specific product that is considered mainstream yet? How can so many people in MLM be so naive to still think that the MLM marketing method is even decent being that is has produced nothing notable other than sales to the MLMers themselves? hoozdaboss - Kirosaki is brilliant because he added some pro-MLM comments and thus sold his books the droves of MLMers who bought the book merely because it was someone moderately famous speaking positive about MLM. MLMers never consider the fact that Kirosaki doesn't do MLM and just maybe says things all these positive thins to sell more books. For every financial author that says something positive about MLM there are bundles who would have nothing to do with the industry. Mentioning one author who says something positive is called selective quoting...which runs wild in the MLM mentality. Mexico4me...good to see you are still up to the old game, replying to every question I post and never actually addressing the question. This one too hard for you to rationalize this time? You will one day face the fact that MLM is nothing more than a sham.
what is MLM/network marketing/direct marketing/private franchise? My friend is in one of MLMs and he told me that Home based business or MLM or network marketing or Direct marketing constitute usd 150 billion global turnover and MLM/network marketing is about 70 yrs old business concept. According to http://www.forbes.com no 1 MLM is http://www.forbes.com/lists/2006/21/biz_06privates_Alticor_B15P.html According to http://www.forbes.com no 2 MLM is http://www.forbes.com/lists/2006/21/biz_06privates_Mary-Kay_9ETL.html According to http://www.forbes.com no 3 MLM is http://www.forbes.com/lists/2006/21/biz_06privates_Forever-Living-Products-Intl_4L21.html Some sites are as follows http://www.mlm.com http://www.dsa.com http://wfdsa.org http://www.indiandsa.com http://www.bww.com http://www.brittindia.com http://winnersinternational.org your comments please
What MLM are you?? Hye.. Nowadays there are many MLM.Which MLM you are in?Why you choose it n is there any stories behind it that makes you realised that the one you choose is the best of all. Im into a few MLM so far.But becoz of one company (MLM) that makes me realized that the great potential which I really become more n more healthier. So far Im so satisfied with the one I chose.So..what abt u?? As for me its just one lifetime registered.Wont regret after I hv joined this company.:)
Why do mlm people refuse to admit that supply and demand applies to them? Lets say you lived in the abc region and you grew your mlm business to have 100 reps. Now those 100 reps will need lots of people in their organization... and those people will need lots of people in their organization. And all the reps will need people to buy product off of them. So their is a limit to the amount of distrubutors the ABC region can hold. We all agree on this no? But mlm people don't seem to realize this is the number one reason my mlm is set up to fail. Now, I also realise that every mlm person is hanging on to the fact that the mlm company will open up in the def region and the ghi region and the jkl region.... but does this ever work out? Please be honest with yourselves.... I like how mlm people are not answering my question. Even if you have all the front line people you want... your downline still needs to recruit and there are only so many recruits an area can have. Sure you can expand into other areas... but there are already reps in that area... expanding into virgin territory? That is a pipedream. I also like how mlm people brag about how many distributors are in their organization. KC brags that there are 140,000 people in his company. That is 140,000 people he is competing against!! If someone were to sign up today, they would have to compete against 140,000 from day one!! lol funny answer Marcello. Here is another funny answer I like to here from mlmers when asked to explain how supply and demand doesn't apply to them: "You are getting too caught up in the numbers and if you do that, you will fail."
My health MLM company now has someone who is 156 years old! Join me.? Hi, i just found out that one of the top reps in my MLM company who is using our health product just turned 156 years old! If that isn't enough proof that MLM and MLM products work, than you are clueless. I have not met him yet, but we were talking about him at our last convention, and he is now a senior rep with over 7 million people in his downline. You would be crazy to not join up with me now, and if you are not, you can be sure I am laughing at you while you are homeless and I am rich. ! Leave me your email and I will get you signed up, rich, and able to live well past 150 right away. Thanks. Please, no negative comments. The only way these products and MLM don't work is if you are negative, so you telling me I am stupid means you cannot succeed. trust me, that is how it works, ask anyone in MLM.
MLM.Can you accept it as a business? I am doing a markrting research on MLM. Help to to answer a few questions..What are your views on MLM? Can you accept it as a business? Do you see a growing future in MLM?
Do you think MLM is the best way, worst way, or middle of the road way to riches? I have always felt trying to get rich in MLM is like trying to cross the Atlantic in a canoe. While it may be possible, it may be the dumbest way to get across. Considering all the ways to make money in this world, and considering the history of all the ways people have made money, MLM might be the at the very bottom of the totem pole. I would bet more people have gotten rich merely saving a few hundred bucks a month in mutual funds than have in MLM (and probably a lot more secure too). Of course, MLMers will claim that MLM has produced more millionaires then something or other which is a total line of BS since there is no evidence of any of that. Anyhow, always enjoy hearing the thoughts of others, even the biased MLMers themselves. Type on! (as a last note, this is merely a thought provoking question. MLM is fundamentally flawed since you cannot expand past 30 levels with even a 2 by 2 downline structure - a canoe with no bottom perhaps ).
MLM / N-Marketing Forum? For Advice, Help & Tips? Any ideas? I'm looking for a place where non financial advice can be given with the running of my MLM business. Where I can ask questions about how I'm running my business and things like that, and people will get back to me offering their advice and help - like a discussions forum. I'm in the UK but I guess it doesn't matter to much as MLM is MLM, regardless of the country. Any links to a forum/message board would be greatfully appreciated.
What makes MLM illegal? It seems like you are suppose to make money out of recruiting representatives more than selling the products. I figure this is illegal, but MLM companies freely do this without any hesitation. A guy approached me to join "development" company few months ago. I actually went to "interview" but soon I found out that he was talking shit. He was praising "rich dad and poor dad" author. I just thought he was a crook. I asked him whether the company is MLM. He couldn't deny, but repeated about how it is a "development" company that mentors people to have financial freedom. I had another person who is in my class told me she is starting a marketing group and told me to come to one of the seminars. I checked her website and found out that it was a MLM company. I thought how could she actively and proudly try to deceive me? I guess that's what some(not all) MLM companies do to people.
Why is MLM/Network Marketing the business of choice for the 21st Century? For example, in the book, "The New Professionals" - The Rise of Network Marketing as the New Profession, See Amazon.com link here: http://www.amazon.com/New-Professionals-Network-Marketing-Profession/dp/0761519661 This book was written by a Harvard Economics Professor. Not an MLM distributor. Also, why does Robert Kyosaki, self made multi millionaire support MLM even though he is not involved with MLM? So, answer the question as to why there are professionals such as CEO's, surgeons, attorneys, CPA's etc... leaving their regular jobs because of the success with the MLM company they've achieved? My answer is time freedom. They didn't want to be owned by their job... what's your answer? Don't say that most people at the top make all the money and you have to get in at the beginning because my 12,000 dollars proves this to be a bunch of horse pucky. I deleted the first question because it was not asked the way it sounded... I meant why so many professionals who are already six figure earners would choose Network Marketing as their vehicle of choice? Also, I'd like to add that there is no infinite depth in pay to keep it going forever... so, it's not a scheme. There is a cap on the depth in pay. Just no cap on how many income centers you can choose to open and grow.
If MLM is such a brilliant marketing model...? ...why don't you see any MLM companies competing against any of the largest retailers in the world. You hear all the time (and have been hearing for 25 years) how MLM will take over how sales are conducted, yet is there even a single MLM specific product that is considered mainstream yet? ...being a member or having some affiliation with a large corporation doesn't quite cut it. I think the question is clear enough, why don't hasn't the MLM model proven to be tops all on its own? I don't need to hear about MLM companies who have affiliations. Also, that part of the question I don't believe is in debate...I am merely asking "why".
If MLM / Network Marketing is such a brilliant marketing model...? ...why don't you see any MLM companies competing against any of the largest retailers in the world. You hear all the time (and have been hearing for 25 years) how MLM will take over how sales are conducted, yet is there even a single MLM specific product that is considered mainstream yet? Do MLMers still beleive this? Mr. Diamo - What is funny is MLMers who come in and COMPLETLEY avoid the question. Gee, I wonder why. What a crack up these statements are. How naive are you? More millionaires from MLM than RE? Even the most naive MLMers don't buy that line...although, then you came along. LOL. Donald Trump endorsing MLM. That is ripe. The guy gets paid to speak at conventions...he gets paid to do a lot of stuff. The guy is a real estate billionaire and would not touch MLM with a 10 foot pole. You morons buy into that stuff hook line and sinker. Too funny. Thanks for the chuckle. ___________________________ To my stalker who can't keep to 1 name: There is not a single MLM generated cell phone company in the top 100 companies worldwide. The creation of VOIP has nothing to do with MLM. Don't let the facts get in your way though. MLM using a product that is already mainstream is just entering hte market, not an example of it producing something that stands out in the market. The developers of VOIP had nothing to do with MLM, and just becuase some MLM companies market it does not make it thier product. Let's also not forget, ACN is very far down the list in terms of retailers of VOIP, cell, phone, and all thier services. If the model was so brilliant, they would be near the top. Point made.
What is a MLM email lead, What does MLM stand for? I was looking for email leads for my boss and I keep coming across "MLM". What does MLM mean and is there anything I should know about MLM?
We need a general MLM related forum in Yahoo Group to response MLM related topic. What you think,? Hello, We all know (hopefully at least agree) that MLM, Network Marketing, Referral Marketing, Word-of-Mouth Business, Affiliate Marketing is one of the most misunderstood industry in US. Since there are so many positive and negative comments in Yahoo Answer, I personally think we need to address these topics in certain Yahoo Group. I am planning to open one Yahoo Group to address MLM related topic. I do not know what you guys think. The people who are involve in the industry know that our industry is not so reputed and respected. Most of the reason is Hype and Lies. However there are good companies and certainly good products. My main goal is to introduce Network Marketing in a form that people understand the business and respect it. Most anti-mlmer hate this industry due to the misconception. I need every bodies help (People who are favor of MLM), we all know we can share the greatness of MLM and let people know the true face of the business.
Shaklee and MLM MARKETING? How does MLM marketing work? I was thinking about becoming a shaklee distributor, but I couldn't find a sponsor who would answer all my questions & I can't get a full grasp of how MLM marketing works. I don't want to bother my friends and family. I want to know how to market to the "cold market" = everyone else. Besides marketing on websites mlm is hard for me to understand because 1 i have no loyalty to a certain brand 2. I never bought something from a catalog and 3. i never met someone that said, hey I found this new product try it here is my business card. So how does it work besides advertising in the news paper or on bulletin boards and random strangers? The only way i can think of it working is if you can get small business owners to market the products in there store. But the products are already expensive. If i was a retailer i would not market a product with only a 15% mark down. So how does this work? Who do you market too, How long does it take to build a downline? Yea you didn't answer any of my questins Cindy, So basically you don't market to retailers or businesses, you just sell by chatting to people online and offline building business. How do you chat to people for your global business when you don't speak the language?
Network Marketing/MLM! What do you think? A pack of lies? Found some fantastic answers about MLM on this sight...just joined by the way. I have been in MLM for 5 years but would love some answers. Despite the success I have had I'm beginning to think it might be a time for the whole industry to change. After 5 years in I have recently come across some info that sugests I may have been lied to...quite a lot actually. I'm a big boy and can handle that but it appears I may have been duplicating(Good MLM word) those lies to a lot of other people...not good. Anyone care to share the lies they may have been told.
mlm question...? Why are people who switch mlm companies SOOO sure this one will be the "one"? Wasn't the last company the "one"? And won't the next company be the "one"? When will they realize that mlm can't sustain the exponentional growth that is needed for it to work? Which is why their last company didn't work out. Which is why their current company won't work, nor will their next company.
Is MLM a good business? I have been invited by Pharmanex, which is a billion dollar corporation which is well established and is official, even used in the White House and the Olympics. But I have been invited as a distributor in its MLM networking. I am just a student so is it a good idea? Has anyone joined any MLM... is it good even for me, a student? I'm from the PHilippines btw. You're thoughts please
Does MLM program really work? Does MLM program really work? Im lookingf for one that really works and dont require for you to pay alot!...anyone have any MLM they would like to share
Why is it the only people who defend MLM are MLMers themselves? Consider that someone could tell you a stock broker is a terrible business and fraudulent activity and you can bet lots of other people other than stock brokers (basically unbiased people) would defend the industry. Same can be said with nearly every industry. But in MLM, the only people that ever defend it are the MLM dreamers themselves. No one who has ever looked at MLM and decided against it has any respect for the business. Its really MLM versus the world for those naive dreamers, and the only people unintelligent enough to overlook the sham of MLM are the biased MLMers themselves. The evidence is overwhelming against the industry, yet the countless naive folk can't resist. If MLM is anything, its proof that a fool is born every minute. (follow up - when will Mecixo4me stop stalking me? She claims she hates reading what I write but has answered just about every question I have posted. Hmmm...who has problems? Too funny.) Mexico4me = my stalker. PROOF POSITIVE!!! LMAO
Is MLM/Network Marketing for people who are not entrepreneurial for actual business startups? It always seems like the people promoting MLM are either the bottom of the ladder in terms of entrepreneurial people or are totally kidding themselves. You can't ask an MLMer about due diligence or market projections without having them tell you are complicating the issue...do these people even realize how ridiculous it is calling what they are doing a "business". Essentially, you have these people sign up as reps (with some other company mind you) and never sell enough product on their own to make any money. Then they pull out these one liners their upline told them to justify what they are doing. Saying MLM is another means of marketing is like saying selling toothpicks is another means of making money...well maybe, but you have to be a moron to go that route. Will any MLMer actually answer this without slandering me for talking negatively about their "business"?
Is there any viability to MLM marketing? I believe in the concept of MLM marketing but in my search of MLM companies I find that the products are either a bunch of garbage or they are overpriced from the point of origin. An MLM company will charge a distributor a so-called wholesale price for a product when in fact the price is higher than it should ever be at the retail level. Is there a genuine MLM company that has a product that isn't overpriced at it's point of origin,--a product that can be demonstrated to others?
Does MLM program really work? Does MLM program really work? Im lookingf for one that really works and dont require for you to pay alot!...anyone have any MLM they would like to share
Anyone have any good MLM horror stories? Like slowing down to view a traffic accident, its near addicting to hear about the tragic waste of time, money, relationships that MLM brings on to just about anyone who gets involved. Anyone have any good ones? *note* i realize there are many MLMers on here who will jump at the chance to call me names for not believing in their sham...don't bother, I don't care how many millions you are supposedly making or how naively you are convinced MLM is the greatest thing since sliced bread. This question is only for those intelligent enough to see MLM for what it is. for those wondering what MLM is...Multi Level Marketing, or also called Network Marketing. *Mexico4Me* Why do you feel the need to defend MLM wherever it is exposed? You want to take issue with my line of work, be my guest. I have made it clear in my profile I invest in apartment buildings. If you think that's the worst way to invest, I don't have issue with that. Why is it that you can't seem to handle anyone who explains why MLM is a sham? You are so quick to suggest I know little about sales and marketing which is ironic being that you come from an industry that prides itself on signing up friends and family with no concern for any business backgrounds. Do you even know how little percentage of people in MLM have a business degree? I can speak logically all day long about why MLM is a sham because I analyze business opportunities for a living. MLM is not the only sham out there, but MLMers are the only one's who seem to constantly need to defend their position. The reason is plainly obvious, because MLM is an unintelligent emotional decision you have made.
I am in a MLM Business and I need Help? I am in a MLM Business and I read that we all who are in a MLM forgot how to market our products properly and when we find out how we will have Prospects coming to us and not us going to them , my MLM Business is IGNITE powered by Stream Energy Ignite is the marketing arm for Stream Energy and my question is how do I go outside the realm of what I was taught and have Prospects knocking my door down and my Phone ringing off the hook .
What is MLM? I see this in sales a lot MLM apportunity. What in the heck is MLM means? Thank you
When an mlm person eventually quits mlm, what is their most common excuse? Seeing that 99.999 % of people that get into mlm end up quiting, I am curious as to their initial reason for getting out. Do they blame 'negative' people like me? Do they blame their upline? do they blame their company for making their product too expensive?
What do you think about MLM sales structures ? Hy there I am trying to create a downline in a new MLM business who looks very promissing, it's in pre launch phase until September. MLM advice? Does anyone know of a website that gives legitimate advice on starting a MLM company?
MLM, here is your chance. Defend your INDUSTRY!? I am wondering if any MLMers can actually defend their industry using actual business concepts as oppose to one liners and unjustifiable claims. Here is your chance to intelligently explain why you feel the following issues are incorrect in MLM. (please note, the question continues into the extra notes). Supply/Demand issue: Any business must carefully consider supply and demand. For example, if the ReVo Corporation thinks that it will have a full-fledged fad on their ovoid sunglasses next summer, perhaps they should plan to build and distribute, say, 10M units. This involves gearing up factories, setting up distribution and dealer networks, and carefully managing the inventories at each level so that ReVo will still have credibility with their distributors, retail outlets, and the public the following year. ... If it turns out that there is a "run" on ReVo products, and they sell out in mid-June, then they have miscalculated demand and will miss out on profits they could have made. The more serious problem, however, is overestimating the saturation point for the product. If they make 10M units, and sell only 2M units, this may be the end of ReVo as a company. The all-too-obvious point here is that management of supply and demand, and keen insight into realistic market penetration and saturation are crucial to any business, for any product or service. Mismanagement of this aspect of a business will eclipse good market access, excellent product design, human resource assets, production quality, and so on. Simply stated, a failure to "hit the target" of supply and demand can ruin a company if the market is oversaturated. ... Interestingly, the issue of supply and demand is what brought the USSR to its knees. By design, the Soviet government tried to macro-manage supply, where bureaucrats would decide how many potatoes were needed, how much toilet paper, etc. Assuming these bureaucrats did the best they could, unfortunately their efforts to deliberately manipulate the control "knob" of supply and demand was not good enough. Notwithstanding their good intentions, they were usually wrong, which created huge shortages and surpluses, and led to a massive economic collapse. Seeing the disastrous end of market naiveté in Russia should help clarify the fundamental problem with the MLM approach. In the real world, the profit of a company is directly related to the skill and prescience of the "hand" on the "supply knob," so to speak. In the USSR, that "hand" could not react fast or accurately enough to market realities through the best efforts of the bureaucrats. ... With MLMs, the situation is much worse. Nobody is home. Even the Soviets had someone thinking about how much was enough! If the bureaucrat in Russia was having a hard time trying to play Adam Smith's "invisible hand" in setting the supply level in the Soviet Union, then an MLM "executive" is in a truly unfortunate position. Not only is there no one assigned to make the decision of how much is enough, the MLM is set up by design to blindly go past the saturation point and keep on going. It will grow till it collapses under its own weight, without even a bureaucrat noticing. All products and services have partial market penetration. For example, only so many people wish to use a discount broker, as evidenced by the very successful but only partial market penetration of Charles Schwab. Not everyone wishes to join a particular discount club, or buy gold, or drink filtered water, or wear a particular style of shoe, or use any product or service. No one in the real world of business would seriously consider the thin arguments of the MLMers when they flippantly mention the infinite market need for their product or services. The Demand Problem: Of Widgets and MLMs Imagine a neat new product called a Widget that will sell for $100 (a fixed price, to keep it simple). Now, while everyone could use a Widget, not everyone will. Some will be afraid of anything new. Some will be loyal to existing brands. Some will want to buy an inferior product for less money. Some will want a more expensive product for prestige, regardless of quality. The reasons go on and on, and the fact is that only "X" Widgets will sell at $100. The question for would-be marketeers is... what is "X," and how can it be predicted to maximize profits? The fact that "X" is hard to pin down does not mean that it does not exist, and every Widget built beyond "X" will end up producing a problem for the organization. The market only wants "X" Widgets at $100. What are you going to do with your extra inventory of Widgets beyond "X" that no one wants, and the sales people you hired to sell them? No one can perfectly predict "X," and the situation is not nearly as simple as considered here, but the objective for marketeers is to forecast "X" as closely as possible in order to provide lasting value to all parties involved: to avoid missed opportunities as well as waste, loss, or failure. Who has an eye on "X," the point of market saturation at a given price, in an MLM? Well, the funny thing, or perhaps the tragic thing, is that "X" will be reached and exceeded without anyone noticing or caring. Let's just suppose that "X" has been reached today in a particular MLM; the number of possible units sold at this price has just been exceeded, and you happen to be a starry-eyed prospect sitting in an MLM meeting listening to the pitch. Now consider: Does anyone in this company know about "X"? Does anyone care? Is the issue being suppressed on purpose for some other motive? Since we are supposing that the market saturation number "X" has been reached, everyone joining the MLM from now on is buying into a false hope. But that is not what the speaker will be saying. He will be telling you, "Now is the time to join. Get in on the 'ground floor'." But it is all a lie, even though the speaker may not know it. The total available market "X" has been reached and nobody noticed. All the distributors will lose from here on out. Could this be you? How could you possibly know at what point you will become the liar in an MLM?

MLM that makes 100k a year? Are there any people here that make 100k per year doing MLM business? Please state in your responce whether or not YOU make 100k per year. For example Sankar your answer is not clear whether or not you make that much money or not. I have heard the "the guy training me is making x" before too and that can mean someone at the top of the company or a person they get to meet once a month at a meeting with 5,000 other people "he" is training. I have also heard of people making x large amount as well after short periods of time (that often is not accurate upon further review).
