MLM Script and MLM Software

Are all insurance companies basically MLM (Multi-Level Marketing)? Recently I got a call from someone claiming to be a "recruiter" from a national insurance chain. I was a little leery from the start, as she sounded like she was reading from a script (and not very well at that). Still, I looked up the job listing, decided to go to the "interview," but with a fair amount of skepticism. As expected, even before I met with the "recruiter," the promo video playing in the waiting room hit one of the high points: the phrase "grow your business." As the interview continued, the talking points of MLM kept coming up. "How much time and money are you prepared to invest in this?" "Are you ready to start building your book of clients?" After I asked a question about cold-call telemarketing, they even used the phrase "purchase leads." Is this the norm in the insurance industry, or is this just a bad company?

What should I do if I've found a Pyramid Scheme? This is a bit of a doozy so bear with me. A fellow worker of my boyfriend came to him and has tried recruiting him for a second but "easy" job. Basically he'd be selling products that the company gives him and what not. This would triple his paycheck and because he's still paying student loans, it sounds like a godsend. He went to a few meetings, and came back with information for me. Here - they meet the boss in a house, not his house, just a house of an employee. The boss wanted my boyfriend to go down to CT (We're in MA) to meet him. If you go to the website, it has a video under "business options" and you'd think they'd have like a list of things to do or a list of jobs like "cashier" or "Sales representitive" but no, just a long video stating economic facts like "the sales of computers in blah was blah and now it's blah." THE WHOLE VIDEO. The guy who recruited my boyfriend, after talking with him a bit, described it basically as a Multi-Level Marketing Company.... To me, this just SCREAMS Pyramid scheme. I know Pyramid Schemes are illegal... but who do I contact or what do I do? Oh, and don't worry about my boyfriend. He's on the same page I am and is being extremely careful. direct sales/marketing? what companies are single, dual, or multi-level marketing? avon = ? mary kay = dual level marketing? Market America = Dual marketing? ACN = ? Amway = i know this is MLM for sure. if you know of more companies, please list them. thanks!! please dont answer if you are going to say these companies are scams or pyramid schemes. I perfectly know the concept of direct selling/marketing already.

SAFE? Arbonne Essentials Energy Fizz Tabs - Pomegranate? I have an aquaintance who sells Arbonne and gave me some samples. She told me how safe, pure, organic, vegan, everything was. I told her I am eliminating as many chemicals as I can from my life (commercial shampoo/conditioner, face cleanser, etc) to opt for more natural products. After I read the shampoo label...My shampoo has 8 ingredients (a few oils and fragrance) and scores very low on the hazard rating at the cosmeticsdatabase.com. Her shampoo has a laundry list of crap. I looked up some of the ingredients and found that Arbonne don't have to list the really bad ones and some of the ones they do list are hazardous (6-7). So, now I'm looking at these energy tabs. I already know the company is a liar (although I'm sure my friend doesn't know anything about what I found). Does anyone know what is in the tabs that might be hazardous? I can't find anything on-line but multi-level marketing articles. Reading the ingredients doesn't seem too bad (except for the caffeine) and there is a warning that pregnant and nursing women shouldn't use it. This tells me it isn't all that safe if they have to put a warning on it. Any opinions?
